At OBH Consulting, we pride ourselves on operating as a team. Our consultants have extensive experience gained across many industries. Together, our expertise covers all major areas, including strategy development, business process improvement, technology implementation, corporate finance, government policy and governance.

We maintain an extensive network of professional consultants to ensure our clients receive the specialist expertise appropriate to their needs.

The key members of our team are:

Con O’Brien

Principal Consultant

Con is the founder of OBH Consulting. He is an experienced and well-qualified consultant who has been advising management for over 35 years. He has an extensive understanding of contemporary corporate strategy and knowledge of government policy and processes. Con’s corporate finance and strategic planning qualifications and experience and strong analytical skills has helped build a client base encompassing the commercial, government and not for profit sectors. He has an excellent knowledge of the issues faced by community organisations, particularly disability service agencies.

He is a graduate of the University of Western Australia (BCom) and the University of Sydney (MBA), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and co-author of three books on corporate and financial strategy.

Based in Melbourne, Con is a director of a number of commercial and not-for-profit organisations and holds governance roles in community and not for profit organisations. He is a former Chair of Intework Incorporated, a WA disability services agency), and a former director of the WA Ballet.

Michael Donnelly

Principal Consultant

Michael moved into management consulting after a successful career in Australian agriculture, supply chain logistics and property development and management. He has had extensive executive management, senior government and corporate governance experience and was Chief Executive Officer of the WA Meat Industry Authority for nine years and CEO of the Perth Market Authority for five years, Western Australia’s two largest agricultural trading facilities.

Michael is based in Perth and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, having completed the AICD advanced governance program. He has Diploma qualifications in Agriculture and Management, is a registered trainer and assessor and experienced group facilitator who has developed a dedicated governance program for not for profit agencies. Projects completed during his consulting career have included capital acquisition due diligence, logistics and warehousing management, a food safety/bio-security project for an overseas regulator and a leadership program for women.

He served as a director, Deputy Chair, Acting Chair and Finance and Audit Committee Chair on the Board of Intework Incorporated from 2006 to 2015 and is currently a director and Vice Chair of Fishers with Disabilities WA Incorporated (Fishability). He recently delivered a project funded by the Recreational Fishing Initiative Fund which was recognised in the Western Australian Spatial Excellence awards and the National Disability Awards.
